My favorite summer activity is what I’m doing tonight! Sunny Tuesdays out at Duck Dodge, a crazy and silly sailing race where most weeks have a theme like “Prom Night”, “Tropical Night”, “Pajama Night” and all kinds of fun. It’s been going on for almost 30 years and I’ve been out there on and off for 15!

My favorite thing to do during a hot Seattle summer day is stopping at QFC on the hill and picking up some drinks and snacks and heading down to Lake Washington for a picnic and fun in the water. No better way to spend a day with friends.

Our family does everything from kayaking through the San Juan’s, skydiving in Shelton, hiking at Crystal Mountain, strolling along the waterfront at Point Defiance to hiking and camping at our little secret spots in the Cascades and Olympics. And that’s just in Western Washington!!!! What a state!

This is our first summer in Seattle…the summer sure isn’t like Texas. I usually wore shorts and flip flops starting in March so it felt like summer would never get here! But it’s amazing and so beautiful here! So far, one of my favorite activities is enjoying fish and chips wrapped in paper while looking at the water at Alki Beach. I feel “so Seattle” doing that.

A perfect vacation from our daily stress includes 1 or 2 nights in a downtown Seattle hotel, taking in the BEST of Seattle’s Amazing Attractions, enjoying a few of the most AMAZING restaurants on this planet, and of course, SHOPPING! Seattle has it all!!!!

My favorite thing is walking downtown and at the waterfront. Everyone always pictures Seattle as dark and gloomy but one a nice day its a REALLY nice day. So beautiful— I cant wait to ride the new wheel as well!

Where to begin! I’m a new transplant from the Midwest and everyday has been filled with breathtaking beauty and an almost overhwhelming amounts of sights, sounds, activities, restaurants, people to meet, mountains to climb…my calendar has been filling up fast! I think my favorite new summertime activity is going to the San Juan Islands…I went to Orcas a few weekends back and it was splendid. I’d like to make it an annual trip.
