Cirque du Soleil Giveaway – AMALUNA!

Something magical is coming back to the Seattle area soon…Cirque du Soleil! If you’ve had the chance to see a cirque show before, you know there is nothing quite like this experience. Elaborate sets and costumes whisk you away to a fantasy land, each like no other, while incredible physical performers, singers and musicians fill the tent with sounds and sights that will leave you breathless.

Cirque’s newest show, Amaluna, makes it’s US debut in Seattle January 31 – March 17th at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA. Tickets are on sale now. Cirque productions give audiences a surge of adrenaline while increasing our desire to add more creativity and magic to our every day.
Amaluna brings us to a world of a goddess-governed island, sharing a coming of age and love story that focuses on femininity  renewal, rebirth, balance, faith, trust and harmony.  Don’t get two focused on plot, though, Cirque shows are the abstract art of the performance world.  Cool to note: this show features Cirque’s first all-female band.
Here’s your chance to win a pair of tickets to the 1/31/13 performance of Amaluna at Marymoor Park near Seattle, WA. Though really, you should buy tickets anyway and go twice if you win.

How to enter:
– Check out the Amaluna website
-post in the comments below an element of the show (storyline, cast, costumes, etc – get specific) or use your own words to describe the Cirque experience
– Then be sure to visit the rafflecopter page on my Facebook fan page and enter to win (you can get entries through commenting on the post, liking my page on Facebook, following me on Twitter and tweeting about the contest).

Yep, Cirque du Soleil gifted me with a pair of tickets to see this show…but opinions here are my own. I have been a cirque du soleil fan since my first moment inside a Cirque tent, and will be one for life. Thank you to all the amazing people who work so hard to bring more magic into our realities!

  2. I have never yet been to a cirque du soleil show. Having never been, I never allowed myself to explore the story lines behind the amazing performances. I am so intrigued by the concept of gods and in this case goddesses. This is only heightened by my love of Greek mythology! This would be a perfect way to see Cirque for the first time!

  5. My first and only experience with Cirque du Soleil years ago in a 500 person tent in Balboa Pk in San Diego…..These masters of illusionists have come a long way, spinning this Amaluna storyline of trust, faith and harmony on an island guided by la luna.

  6. Cirque Du Soleil performances are beautiful and ingenious. Amaluna is especially intriguing through its use of intricate costumes and acts to tell the story between a princess and her courageous suitor. I would love the opportunity to be left breathless.

  8. I’ve never seen one of their shows, but looking at the website it looks like the kind of show that would have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I’d love to see how they incorporate all of the acts into their storyline and am also curious to see their use of the waterbowl.

  9. It’s been years since I’ve seen one of their shows but the set design, costumes, and daring acts are so amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It’s like ballet meets the circus meets Shakespeare! I am intrigued by this storyline.

  11. My husband and I have been to 3 Cirque du Solei shows and we love every single one. What I love the most is watching how the performers literally turn their bodies into art — I always leave the shows feeling inspired by what I have just seen.

Bonus – my husband’s 30th birthday is on February 1st, so I’d love to take him to the show to celebrate. 🙂

  13. I LOVE Cirque Du Soleil! I just heard the ad for this show on the radio the other day and got so excited! I would love win tickets to this. I am always so impressed with the strength and beauty, skill and creativity that goes into the performances. The feminine as Amaluna story line is so unique to big budget mass media productions that I hope it does really well across the country. I’m excited that Seattle (Redmond) gets to be the first stop in the US.

  15. The only cirque show I’ve seen is Zumanity — which is really fun for couples!

I don’t doubt that I would enjoy another kind of cirque du soleil!
