Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (The Musical) comes to The Paramount Nov 12 – 17! Giveaway!

The first thing I did when I heard Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (The Musical) was coming to Seattle was google the soundtrack. Can I just tell you how excited I am to see this show?  RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED. The kind of excited that makes me wonder about my sanity and then quickly dismiss that worry with a thought of “Forget THAT! It’s going to be Fabulous!”  And this show and story is all about FABULOUS.  Variety writes: “”Rollicking crowd-pleaser in sequins! Priscilla packs enough heart to leave audiences entralled!”

The costumes alone are a reason to go.  I had the chance to interview cast member Alex Ringler about the costumes:

What have been some of your favorite moments working on this show?

My most favorite memories have been getting to know this amazingly talented cast and crew. They have made my journey with Priscilla so fun and so rewarding.

What costumes do you find are the audience favorites?

The costumes that get the most response are Les Girls and the Cupcakes. The audience doesn’t expect the Les Girls showgirls to appear when they do, and who doesn’t love a life-sized cupcake?

Do you have any advice for fans looking to bring a little “Priscilla” magic into their wardrobes?

It’s all about the glitter lip. It’s a signature of Priscilla. Give yourself a red lip. Then apply a layer of Vaseline, and then dot red glitter onto your lips. It goes with any fabulous outfit. The best way to remove it at the end of the night is packing tape and baby wipes.

What challenges did you face working on this show?

The quick-changes. When we’re not onstage working up a sweat, we’re backstage working up a sweat; changing from one costume to the next (sometimes in less than 60 seconds), removing/applying makeup, getting ready for our next entrance. This show is a marathon!

What is your favorite costume moment of the show?

My favorite costume is my ballerina costume for the funeral scene. It makes me feel like Natalie Portman in Black Swan.

Tickets are on sale now – show runs at The Paramount Theatre in downtown Seattle November 12 -17, 2013.

  3. If you want tto get the most bang for your buck, the nwxt quewstion is, “Should I
buy oor build my home solar panels”. Photo
Voltaoc cells are made oof unique semiconductors silicon, which is most commonly used these days.
Commercial cliets will always be able tto get discount rates immediately with a supplier or franchise owner, it’s the housdhold solar power market
which is where the big money will be made.
