Have you seen “Stew” at ACT Theatre yet? LET ME KNOW. I need to chat with folks about that ending and hear your thoughts on it!
This show, which runs now through March 31, features an incredible cast and set/staging. “Stew” had me laughing out loud in many moments and feeling deep heartache in others. I left with questions and I want to know your theories about the script and staging at the end!
ACT Theatre’s description: “Mama’s up early to prepare the perfect stew for a very important community meal. As the day rolls on, tempers go from a simmer to a boil, and secrets rise to the surface for three generations of Tucker women. When the violence hovering around the periphery of their lives begins to intrude upon the sanctity of the kitchen, mothers and daughters wrestle with loss and hope in this hilarious, haunting drama.”

I hope to see Varinique “V” Davis and Shermona Mitchell in shows in the future. They were so captivating and entertaining to watch.
“Stew” was written by Zora Howard. ACT Theatre’s 2024 production was directed by Claudine Mboligikpelani Nako. Photos in this post by Rosemary Dai Ross.
