The Best Spooky Season experiences in Seattle

Hey friends! Fall has officially arrived. In past years, I have been a bit down about Fall, seeing it as the season of “oh nooooooo, winter is coming…” (imagine a dramatic road-trip “are we there yet” tone).

But that is a mindset I’ve decided to let blow into the past. This year, I’ve been talking to folks who LOVE Fall and to absorb some of their perspectives. So far, so good. (Yeah, y’all are right, those PNW Fall leaves? Pretty gorgeous.) I’m still getting the hang of it, though, so if you love fall, lemme know why (on FB or IG) – I need the inspiration!

It truly has been a stellar start to fall. I’ve celebrating spooky season (hello, pumpkin shirt, I missed you!), dancing, and even brought a light-hearted interactive experience to an artsy event.

But let’s get on with it. I’m back to practice of my favorite hobbies: letting you know about awesome events and experiences that are coming up in Seattle.

Spooky Season Shows & Experiences

Hitchcock Hotel at Can Can (Pike Place Market):

I saw this last year and LOVED it. You know I gush about Can Can Cabaret (truly so magical, silly, sexy, all of it!) on this blog and this show is a ton of fun. I was thrilled when they announced their season that they were bringing it back. Ooh, and I just noticed it actually plays now through NOVEMBER 17! So maybe I will get a chance to see it again. Either way, you should definitely check it out. Info here

This is Halloween: The Live Music & Dance Multimedia Spooktacular (Downtown Seattle):

How have I STILL never seen this show? It’s created by the folks at Can Can (and plays at The Triple Door) and it’s such a ridiculously fun story…seriously, I need to sit myself down and have a talk with myself about this. Not ok, Deller. 😉 Go see it and come back and let me know what you loved most about it. …hmm, maybe I can squish it in? I’m thrilled to see it’s Tuesdays- Sundays now until closing night. Tickets and info, here. Plays now through November 2nd. (Ooh, use code Hitchcock for $10 off some performances)

The Pomegranate Tree (International District): So, when I hear Dacha Theatre is doing an immersive experience, my first question isn’t “what’s it about” , it’s “when can I GO?” and I pull up my calendar. I haven’t read much of their description of this show besides dressing up is encouraged (but not required), it’s immersive, and it’s at Theatre Off Jackson this time around. I’ve really enjoyed their immersive or interactive experiences of “Ghost Party,” “The Veil” and a carnival show (F)UNFAIR and I’m really looking forward to going to the underworld with them soon. Plays October 25 – November 9. Info and tickets, here.

WICKED IS COMING! (Downtown Seattle) You might have heard of a little musical called Wicked? Yeah? 🙂 Well, it’s flying back into town soon! It’s been years since I’ve seen this wildly popular broadway tour and I’m stoked to see it again this fall at the gorgeous Paramount Theatre. Tickets may still be available. Plays November 6 – December 1. Tickets & info here.
Cute side note: If you check out this post from 2015, you’ll see my then-12-year-old niece Nara’s review of the show. Dang, that girl can write! It’s such a treat to see her review (followed by her Oma’s review!) from 9 years ago. What a fun memory to rediscover. Thanks for continuing to bring Seattle joy, Wicked! Info and tickets, here.

Passable’s current art experience is incredible:

“Ye Olde Curiosity Shop” art exhibit (Capitol Hill) I absolutely love what the folks at Passable Art create. And WOW! This month they have knocked it out of the park! My jaw dropped as I walked through this exhibit (which they have made into an actual pop-up “gift shop” as part of the art). There are only 3 more dates to see it, October 26, 27, and 31. I don’t want you to miss this, especially if you love delightfully weird art (and/or, like me, have fond nostalgia feels for the actual curiosity shop down on the Seattle Waterfront). I will be going back at least one of the dates, maybe more. Last time I bought a little jar of “eye of newt” to add to my potions collections and there were many other weird items that caught my eye. 😉 Info and tickets here.

Enjoy spooky season, everyone! If you see (or have seen) any of these shows or experiences, comment on my post on Facebook, if you feel like sharing your reviews.

Sending you love,

Keridwyn

P.S. I hear great things about “Leave Only Footprints” haunted immersive experience at Annex Theatre. Another thing I want to add to my calendar!
