Lady Rizo in town 4/21 and 4/22 only!

Lady Rizo is a delightful, unique, hilarious cabaret performer. She has a great mix of original works and covers that she performs in a way you will NEVER hear them done by anyone else.  She has provided me and friends that have attended her shows many hours of laughter that carry on for years after the production.  Just singing the line “Blame it on the goose” around a couple of my pals will result in instant laughter and has us bastardizing her song as we laugh with the memory of her performance.

Today, her post about her interview on NPR  caught my eye on my Facebook timeline. I posted a congrats comment and she asked if I was coming to see her tonight or tomorrow! I had no idea she was in town! Luckily there are a few tickets left for her show tonight and tomorrow at Fred Wildlife Refuge on Capitol Hill. If you can make it, do it! Rizo is a curious blend of a strong pop/broadway vocalist, with a mischievous, sometimes baudy sense of humor. One particular song she mixes “sex, sass and a little bit of tango” in her own words.  Rizo is classic vintage starlet meets Lady Gaga in a chill moment, with a little bit of muppet thrown in for good measure.

If you can’t make this appearance, be sure to subscribe to her on Facebook to stay up to date for her next visit to town. Looks like, from her bio, that she’s a Cornish grad too! Visit her website now for a stream of her songs.

Have you seen her perform? If you have (or if you go this weekend) would love to hear your review of her act!
