Hi friends!
As May wraps up, I wanted to tell you about a few fun Seattle events happening this Spring and Summer:
Blue Man Group at The Paramount May 29 – 31, 2026
I saw Blue Man Group in Vegas years ago and frankly I wasn’t expecting much. So I was thrilled to discover what a fun and hilarious experience it can be!
Cool to know about this particular production: This 2026 tour, which plays only a few short days at The Paramount Theatre, marks the first time there are not just three Blue Men but there is also a new character on stage: a woman DJ/drummer who is named “The Rockstar.” Together, “all four performers create a high-energy interactive experience using lights, colors, paints, sounds and screen to directly connect with the audience.” The role of The Rockstar is played by Ursula Sargent who has Seattle roots: she went to University Prep High School and did some training at Seattle Drum School. She’s also worked with JazzEd (a non-profit music school bringing jazz education to K-12th graders) and the Jack Straw Cultural Center, a local Seattle non-profit recording studio. Tickets here.
Deck’d Out brings early-evening dancing back on Thursdays starting June 18!
One of my very favorite dance series of the year, Deck’d Out at Monkey Loft (brought to us by the rad humans that make up Shameless Productions) is coming back in just a few weeks. You can currently purchase a season pass or individual tickets to certain dates. I’m attending the majority of their Thursday nights this Spring and Summer. They have DJs in the loft indoor area as well as DJs on the outdoor rooftop deck in SODO. Sending a big thank you out to all the folks who make these amazing vibrant events happen, week after week. Details and tickets here.
Starting to sell out: The Circus of Second Chances by Acrobatic Conundrum

This show runs May 29 – June 15 but some performances are already sold out! A friend invited me to join her and her two kiddos and I’m so looking forward to experiencing this show with all of them. “On a relentless quest for wonder, three veteran acrobats let their imaginations run wild to fulfill secret longings. Fluent in the language of circus, Acrobatic Conundrum’s principal performers melt the fourth wall and reveal their flaws and journeys to redemption. The audience plays a vital part in The Circus of Second Chances, in which ropes are dancescapes, trapezes are windows to the soul, and spinning hoops are portals to infinite possibility.” Show is at 12th Avenue Arts on Capitol Hill in Seattle. Terry Crane is part of the cast and I loved seeing him perform at Seattle Public Theatre in recent years. Tickets here.
June 5 – 27, 2026: Dacha Theatre’s Interactive “Dream, Carl, Dream” at 12th Avenue Arts

“In their waking life, Carl seems to be holding it together, but in the depths of their subconscious, Carl knows they could be – want be – so much more. In fact, Carl’s dreams might just be the only connection they still have to their deepest self. That’s where you come in. In this immersive, interactive piece, you will assist the beleaguered neurons of the Dream Department in programming each night’s dreams. Work alongside your mental colleagues during the day, and then sit back, relax, and watch the show once the dreams start to play. Plumb the depths of this unknown psyche deep enough and you may even find a way to show Carl what they truly need.” I so enjoyed Dacha’s interactive productions of The Veil and Ghost Party in past years, so look forward to checking out this new production. “Clock in. Make Dreams. Save Carl.” Tickets and info here.
June 11 – Sept 13, 2026: Lola returns at Can Can Seattle in Pike Place Market!

Y’all know how much of a fan I am of Can Can’s productions. And this is a particularly sweet and silly and sexy show. While the casting might be a bit different than last time, the heart of the show looks to be the same. I recommend you visit the Can Can on a date night, especially if you’ve never been before. Here’s my review from their 2022 production of Lola.
“Inspired by the lyrics of Barry Manilow’s Grammy Award–winning hit “Copacabana,” Lola blends comedy, romance, and flirtatious sex appeal into an unforgettable evening of entertainment. With vibrant new costumes, original choreography, fresh music, and Can Can’s signature blend of humor and glamour, Lola is set to be the must-see summer event of 2026.” Tickets and info for the 2026 production, here.
June 29: World Stunt – Pride Kickoff Block Party

World Stunt is BeautyBoiz’s free all-ages Seattle Pride block party. “Harvard Avenue between Pike and Pine will transform into a vibrant outdoor festival featuring a main stage, 21+ cocktail garden, and queer vendor market. Enjoy seven hours of nonstop performances spotlighting queer music and culture from around the globe, culminating in an unforgettable headlining performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Tayce. The event is co-produced with Intiman Theatre and Kendall’s DJ & Events, with support from the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture.” Oh, and DJ La Mala Noche is spinning at some point! I will have to figure out when so I don’t miss their set.
July 10 – 18 – from the whimsical and talented Mark Siano and Opal Peachy: Seattle Vice at The Triple Door!

“From the acclaimed creative powerhouses Mark Siano and Opal Peachey comes an electrifying new cabaret musical, Seattle Vice. Inspired by Rick Anderson’s gritty and groundbreaking book Seattle Vice and following the runaway success of their 2016 hit Seattle Vice, this bold production dives even deeper into the scandalous and storied history of Seattle’s underworld. In the swinging, seedy 1970s, Seattle’s infamous “tolerance policy”—a corrupt handshake between law enforcement, politicians, and vice industries—was the foundation of an illicit empire all along Seattle’s waterfront and debaucherous downtown. Seattle Vice ’76: The Saga of Sin takes audiences on a whirlwind journey as investigative journalists and reformist politicians bring the system crashing down, leaving in their wake a tale of ambition, rebellion, and exploitation. This cabaret musical reveals the glitz, grit, and chaos that defined the Emerald City during one of its most infamous decades.” Tickets and details here.
