Review by Jeanne Kinley Deller:
If you’re among those who hum along with ABBA tunes and have yet to experience the long-running broadway hit Mamma Mia, you’ll definitely want to get on board. This oft silly and mostly lighthearted show is in Seattle on its final farewell tour now through Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 at the Paramount Theatre.
There is no better place to while away a rainy Seattle evening than on Mamma Mia‘s Greek Island, in the company of a marvelously zany cast whose escapades keep the audience laughing, cheering, and dancing in their seats.
Song and dance routines throughout are peppered with immensely talented costuming by designers Ron Glow and Catherine Lovejoy—dancing in wetsuits with snorkel gear and flippers, anyone?
The longest encore ever experienced by this reviewer brought down the house—Mamma Mia’s triumphant cast was joined by the jubilant audience, singing and swaying to “Dancing Queen” in unison. This charming, warm-hearted production awaits you, now through April 2nd. Tickets here.
