GIVEAWAY: Seattle Women’s Chorus: Legends of Rock on April 28!

The Seattle Women’s Chorus are back at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle on Sunday, April 28 at 4pm. For this special “Legends of Rock” performance, the chorus will be joined by two incredible performers, Sarah Rudinoff and Ayesha “Musicbox” Brooks (The Voice Season 6). Sarah Rudinoff, one of Seattle’s top talents, will give you goosebumps with her vocal prowess – there’s a reason she won The Stranger’s Genius Award in Theatre! This show is sure to be full of electricity and joy, with songs from Janis Joplin, Alanis Morissette, Tina Turner and much more. I haven’t seen Ayesha “Musicbox” Brooks perform yet and look forward to checking her out.

More about the show, in their own words:

1170x482-LegendsOfRock-R3

Decades ago, women like Janis Joplin and Carly Simon erupted onto the mainstream rock scene, blowing a hole through the stage wall that generations of women rockers have burst through. This concert is a loud and proud ode to the trailblazing singer-songwriters who weren’t afraid to raise their voices and make a scene: Patti Smith, Joan Jett, Alanis Morissette, Florence Welch, Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, and more groundbreaking artists.  Features certified-ASL interpretation.

More about Sarah:  Sarah Rudinoff has been making theatrical work in Seattle for over 25 years. As an actress, she has performed in every major theatre, most recently as Rosie in Mamma Mia! at The 5th Avenue and Well at Seattle Rep. Sarah was the first actor to play Yitzak in Hedwig and the Angry Inch outside of the original production and she sings Led Zeppelin in the burlesque extravaganza “House of Thee Unholy” at The Triple Door. With collaborators Gretta Harley and Elizabeth Kenny, she co-created and starred in These Streets at ACT Theatre, about women musicians of Seattle’s “grunge” years. Sarah has a Stranger Genius Award in Theatre.
